Johannesburg - Three armed men robbed staff and took money from a school safe at the Kagiso Senior Secondary School, Johannesburg police said on Wednesday.
Warrant Officer Solomon Sibya said the men entered the school's staff room at about 11:45 on Tuesday, and took money from the safe as well as a wedding ring.
The teachers were busy with registrations when the men stormed in and pointed firearms at the staff demanding the safe keys.
"The suspects opened up the safe and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen."
A staff member's wedding ring was also taken at gunpoint, Sibya said.
"No one was injured and no shots were fired."
Police appealed to anyone with information that could lead to arrests to call Kagiso detectives on 011 696 9106 or Captain Ngobeni on 082 461 3109.
